Luau Beans
Luau Beans is
a good lazy-day dish. Don Hawaiian duds,
spin some Don Ho, and "hula" away the afternoon.
There’s no harm done if the beans end up
baking overtime. Hakuna Matata.
Ingredients
Four 26 oz cans baked beans, or equivalent
2 teaspoons dried mustard
1/2 cup brown sugar
One 20 oz can crushed pineapple
One 20 oz can sliced pineapple

Directions
Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Combine all ingredients

Bake for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Top with sliced
pineapple. Return casserole to oven and bake

minutes
longer.
Ha! Bill has done something similar for years, although he does them on the stove and puts in about 3x the amount of sugar that you do. We call it "Daddy's Candy Beans". Next time I'll try to talk him into using the oven instead of the stove--we've had some nasty layers of burned beans on the bottom of the pot, the result of forgetting to stir frequently.
